ACCIDENT KOMBI COMMUTER BUS FIRE, KILLS EIGHT: Last night eight people died when a commuter omnibus heading to Kanyemba from Harare collided with a lorry and burst into flames in Concession, Mazowe District.
The eight victims included the driver of the commuter omnibus. The Kombi minibus collided with a Toyota Dyna and there was only one survivor in the accident Oshia Njenge (22) while the rest could not be saved after flammable substances in the commuter omnibus fuelled the fire.
Mashonaland Central Acting Provincial Development Coordinator, Cosmas Chiringa confirmed the incident.
He appealed to public service vehicles to desist from carrying flammable substances on board. 7 of the deceased have been identified at Concession Hospital Mortuary.
