BREAKING NEWS: MDC-T splits as Obert Gutu quits the violent ‘MDC-Chamisa’, as MDC T falls apart because we can only expect bigger widespread breakaways as leaders flee the lack of constitutionalism in the party
MDC-T is finished with the fall of Morgan Tsvangirai. What seemed fun to a rowdy crowd, unconstitutional rise by Chamisa and lack of respect for aparty constitution, has come back to bite as the national spokesperson Obert Gutu has strongly condemned party violence at Morgan Tsvangirai’s funeral in Buhera, when MDC-T vice-president Thokozani Khupe and secretary general Douglas Mwonzora and other party officials were verbally harassed and assaulted and had to be protected by the police at one point after fleeing to a hut in the Tsvangirai homestead where the crowd baying for their blood, went on to attempt to set the thatched hut alight in the rain, but the scared and absolutely terrified MDC T leaders were whisked away from the crowd chanting Chamisa, to safety by police.
Obert Gutu the MDC-T national spokesperson has now Twitted that he is with immediate effect distancing himself from MDC T as he won’t continue associating himself with an organization that advocates for violence and thuggery. Obert Gutu further stated that he is a principled politician and professional, not quitting politics and will contest in Harare East constituency in the 2018 elections. The Harare East parliamentary seat had been allocated to Tendai Biti’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP) under coalition MDC Alliance. Unless if one is blind, they would realise that the developments mark the end of MDC t and in a sense give Mnangagwa and his Zanu pf abetter chance at winning the 2018 elections. Now you know why the late former Vice president Simon Mzenda said ‘Zanu pf will rule you until donkeys grow horns. All I can say donkeys have no horns yet,..you do the maths! More news to follow.
