In a mirroring of the British government’s expulsion of 23 Russian Diplomats, last week over the poisoning of Sergei and his daughter Yulia Skripal, Russia has in the last few minutes expelled 23 British Diplomats from Russia in a tit for tat retaliation.
Russia has gone further in its response and also indicated that the activity of the British Council in Russia will cease and the operations of the British Consulate in Russia will cease.
This came a few minutes after the British Ambassador to Russia had been summoned to a meeting at the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow. Russia has alo warned that if Britain takes more measures against Russia, then Russia will also take further steps.
Putin is only employing populist mentality which Mugabe used to do with his Zanu pf, as he’s just a month away from elections and he has to flex his muscle like Mugabe to ensure that Russians feel he is a powerful leader, capable of protecting them but not doing anyone afavour because he is displaying to all countries if Russia is responsible, then anyone, wnywher in the world can be pursued and killed as simple as that. All nations should rightly be in fear of such unchecked power by any Nation. Recently Putin amazed the attentive audience when he gave a State of the Nation Address in which he presented video footage of ‘new generation nuclear weapons’ which are designed to bypass US security systems, He showed footage of cruise missiles, intercontinental ballistic missiles, underwater drones and supersonic jets in what some likened to the onset of the next cold war.
The presentation revealed what Putin said in a surprise 200 tonne Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles which can dodge defence and missiles that can travel at supersonic speed at five times the speed of sound and reach any point around the world.
The State of the Nation address was attended by several key figures including Russian MPs and senators who applauded the military video.
This address by Putin was said to be a two pronged message, firstly to the West, don’t push us and, secondly with Russia’s elections due soon, the message to the Russian people is clear: ‘Vote for Putin and you’ll be voting for national security’
President Putin’s video showed a missile launch and demonstrated that Russia has developed a new range of nuclear weapons that are considered invincible, including a cruise missile said to have the capability to reach any point in the world.
Putin warned that the West: “need to take account of a new reality and understand … this… is not a bluff.”
Putin show cased new nuclear delivery systems development which showed missiles that allegedly can evade missile detection, along with “low-flying, difficult-to-spot cruise missiles… with a practically unlimited range and an unpredictable flight path, which can bypass lines of interception and is invincible in the face of all existing and future systems of both missile defence and air defence”.
In another presentation Putin showed a submarine-launched, long-range missile capable of delivering a nuclear warhead to the target. For the progressive Zimbabweans, what is happening currently, spells disaster because Russia only a week ago was given multibillion dollar deals in mining, security and agriculture by Mnangagwa’s regime, so, effectively we are again aligning ourselves with the ‘enemy’, as we know that US along with other countries have rallied behind Britain over its response to the poisoning saga.

May ordered the expulsion of 23 Russian diplomats and suspended all high-level contact with Russia. Russia however, is one of the five Allies of World War II , Russia , China , France , the United Kingdom, and the United States who are all nuclear states and Permanent members of the United Nations Security Council or five states which the UN Charter of 1945 grants a permanent seat on the United Nations (UN) Security Council (UNSC).
As of 2013, Russia became the world’s second largest rpoducer of natural gas and supplies 40 per cent of Europe’s gas. Russia dominates the gas supply and has a monopoly over Russia’s network of pipelines to Europe.
This effectively means that there is not much that the UN security council or Europe can do to bring pressure to bear upon Russia as Russia has a veto in its power. No one will want to support Zimbabwe as its no different from aligning themselves with enemies of the west, EU and US, so its fair to say, Mnangagwa and his Zanu pf are a liability to Zimbabwe’s progress and development. Already Mugabe has indicated in no uncertain terms that he is against the illegitimate rule by Mnangagwa and the military.
Russia has demonstrated how powerful it is when it comes to UN issues, case in point, Russia’s controversial involvement in the long running Syrian war where children die daily, masses are bombed and chemical weapons are used on the people. Images and videos of Syria, show a serious destruction of buildings and infrastructure in Syria, emaciated children, the dying disabled, sick, elderly and children and Russia is seen as supporting an alleged dictator, the Syrian president in another controversial political development.
He has spoken out to the world, has access to international media and he mentored Mnangagwa and we all know Mnangagwa is no match for the articulate Mugabe in a face to face debate . Mugabe however knows that he is no longer wanted by the people of Zimbabwe, so , his main aim is to ensure that he destroys Mnangagwa’s political ambitions by destroying Zanu pf, aparty he formed and the backbone upon which Mnangagwa and securocrats depend upon in holding up their illegitimate rule.
Britain has reportedly been tolerant of Russian corruption by turning a blind eye on billions of Russian money which was meant to develop Russian roads, hospitals and service delivery and allowed olligarchs to settle in London and laundering of billions into London in assets including multimillion dollar houses.
According to the UK Guardian, the extent of Organized Crime and Corruption was reported in 2013 to involve Russian banks, Moldovan oligarchs, and a network of fake UK companies fronted by fake or “nominee” directors, many of them based in Ukraine with impeccable Moscow connections. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s cousin Igor sat on the board of a bank which held accounts that laundered billions.
In a recent study by Deutsche Bank, it was reported that £138bn has flowed into the UK in recent years mostly from Russia. Russia is however known to be an economy which has been over shadowed by organised crime, money-laundering schemes by groups or individuals with reported links to the Kremlin’s ruling power structures, making money laundering a powerful business in Russia.
The easiest scheme allegedly employed by those with political influence in Russia is the use of Shell firms and ‘loans’ where
a loan agreement is made saying the Financier /Shell firms (source of dirty money’ has “loaned” millions , secured by Russian companies simply a fake loan to another UK shell company.
The Financiers then accuse the loan recipient of failing to pay back the money and claim repayment in court inthe country with the shelf companies, forcing the Russian companies to pay up the millions they secured, now through a transfer of millions of real money and the money has been laundered because it thn is technically clean money which shelf companies reportedly then transfer into the UK economy and thats how billions of stolen money from the people of Russia by a corrupt system is reportedly keeping a vibrant ‘British ‘ economy.
It is obvious that Kremlin insiders and other well-known Russians have used these simple and effective money laundering schemes to shift cash abroad to UK banks. It should therefore come as no surprise that the same corrupt Mnangagwa, Zanu pf stalwarts and securocrats regime is aligning its self with Russia and rewarding Russia with such lucrative diamond and platinum mining , agriculture and security deals. Its all a ploy by Mnangagwa to launder the corrupty gained wealth he holds as he is one of the richest Zimbabweans.
This is the sad thing about the way money circulates as particularly corrupt African leaders and business people and criminals have laundered their money and invested it in ‘reportedly’ Britain who turn a blind eye because the billions are running the economy of Britain, so they are reportedly happy to keep the corrupt billions from African presidents and oil their economy, while the people of Africa, suffer as the money meant for roads, schools, hospitals, electricity, service delivery and other development is stolen by their leaders, leaving them suffering while developing western economies where the laundered money ends up.
Britain would never dare touch the billions stashed by olligarchs in London because it would damage the British economy and London Financial Markets Interesting!
Most of the looted billions from Zimbabwe, including the missing US$15 billion, was allegedly laundered to the west using such schemes and to date no one has ever been arrested by Mnangagwa’s corrupt regime who are now facing the real prospect of losing power in the forthcoming elections. Zimbabwe should realise that aligning themselves with ‘rogue’ nations is self defeating as no one wants to do any business or have association with a nation linked to rogue states.
British police have launched a murder investigation into the death of Russian businessman Nikolai Glushkov last week following the results of a postmortem exam. According to the British police , they “gave the cause of death as compression to the neck.”
The British public concern is that the death of the Russian Glushkov which happened over a week after the poisoning of a former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury on March 4 is suspicious.
People are now worried that the ‘killings’ are ordered by the Russian state, which is under the incumbent leadership of Putin
Glushkov who was a friend and former employee of Boris Berezovsky, one of the richest and most powerful and famous people in Russia and powerful oligarch who in 2013 was found dead in his UK home, refused to accept the police explanation that Berezovsky had committed suicide.
Britain at the same time refused to extradite Glushkov in February 2016 to face fraud charges in Russia linked to the 1990s when he Glushkov was a deputy director of the Russian national airline Aeroflot and allegedly embezzled funds from Aeroflot, in which Berezovsky was a shareholder
Glushkov was also questioned by the British police in 2006, with respect to the death of a Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko, who was poisoned with highly radioactive polonium-210 in a hotel bar in London.
Glushkov told the inquiry that he bumped into the former spy Litvinenko in Berezovsky’s office. Berezovsky was found dead in 2013 on the bathroom floor of his home in Berkshire, west of London but Glushkov claimed publicly that the tycoon Berezovsky had been murdered.
