MATI, Greece Authorities in Greece have confirmed that the death toll from the deadly wild fires in Greece from a wildfire that razed the coastal area east of Athens a week ago, has risen to 91 while 25 people are reported missing, six days after what is said to be Europe’s deadliest forest fire in over 100 years.
Flames from the fire spread through the popular resort spot Mati village suddenly with no warning giving people no time to escape and the vast majority of victims died in the fire itself, while some drowned in the sea when they ran into the sea to escape the flames More news to follow.
