The high life seems to be falling fast for the ex Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Gideon Gono, whose Greystone park home in Harare, will go on auction next week over failure to pay a US$1,3 million debt.

Gono one of the Zanu PF stalwarts who monopolise wealth purchased numerous staff vehicles for his employees six years ago, from Oasis Motors .

The vehicles, purchased on credit were for his staff use under his businesses which included Lunar Chickens and other companies Oasis Motors sued Gono in the High Court and this led to the attachment of the Gono’s Greystone Park Home ,Number 8 Edstone Road, Greystone Park which covers an area of 4 654 square metres.

Oasis Motors  case was represented by  Chitewe Law Practice and Gono’s property will be auctioned by Zim Auctions and Real Estate on August 26, in Harare.

Many Zimbabweans will not be feeling sorry for the former bank governor as they view him as the man who ‘looted’ their hard earned savings at the collapse of the Zimbabwe dollar, which turned millionaires overnight into beggars. By Sibusiso Ngwenya
