Family Of Abducted & Missing Itai Dzamara Invites Mujuru, Tsvangirai To Prayer

FORMER Vice President Joice Mujuru and MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai are expected the headline the Itai Dzamara prayer meeting scheduled for this weekend.

Brother to the missing journalist and political activist, Patson Dzamara confirmed the development saying the prayer session was aimed at seeking divine intervention in ongoing efforts to locate their brother who has been missing since March this year.

“With the help of churches and civic groups, we are going to hold the prayer session this weekend and we have invited c, Dr Dumiso Davengwa, Morgan Tsvangirai, Cde Rugare Gumbo among others,” said Patson.

“The purpose of the prayer meeting is to seek God’s help and guidance in establishing where Itai is,” he said.

The pro-democracy activist went missing at a time he was leading an advocacy group calling on President Robert Mugabe to step down.

The opposition and human rights campaigners have blamed the State for Dzamara’s disappearance saying, with the history that the Mugabe regime has when it comes to human rights issues, it was the chief suspect in the manner in which the journalist went missing.

However, it is the involvement of Mujuru that has raised eyebrows as just eight months back, she was part of the regime accused of gross human rights abuses.

Since her dismissal from government Mujuru has publicly apologised for being part of the Mugabe regime and has also offered her sympathy to the Dzamara family.

In one of her statements, she challenged the Zanu PF politburo to focus of finding Dzamara and instead of accusing her of plotting to kill Mugabe as she had no capacity to take the life of the 91-year-old veteran leader. source-newzimbabwe
