‘Government Sleeping On the Job As Land Beneficiaries Sell Off Irrigation Equipment’
Beneficiaries of the Zanu PF war veteran led farm invasions and land reform programme, are said to be selling irrigation equipment, thereby threatening National food security.
The equipment that is vandilised and sold off by the culprits includes fences, computers, pumps, and gear boxes from the centre pivot irrigation equipment.
This inevitably leaves the newly acquired farm land set for irrigation programmes, lying idle once equipment are removed.
Mashonaland West and Masvingo.provinces are the worst affected by this vandalisation of irrigation equipment.
