Govt Orders The Destruction Of Homes And Structures 70 Metres &45 Metres Of Roads & Railways Respectively
Soon after the unceremonius demolition of at least 100 family homes in Budiriro, of illegally built structures on wetlands and land reserved for a clinic and school, earlier on this month on ‘International Day Of Human Rights’, the Zanu PF regime has announced that all illegal structures built within 70 metres and 45 metres on either side of the network of railway lines and roads, respectively, will be destroyed.
The department in charge, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Development, issued a 90-day ultimatum to property owners to immediately destroy and remove all structures within those specifications.
Failure to comply with the Ministry’s directive will be met with forced removal and prosecution of offenders. by Sibusiso Ngwenya
