Harare Man (44) In Court For Claiming ‘Mugabe Is Too Old And Married A Prostitute’

A Harare-based police officer has landed himself in trouble for allegedly labelling President Robert Mugabe as “too old to rule” and saying he married a “prostitute”.

The Cranborne-based Thompson Joseph Mloyi (44) was yesterday arraigned before provincial magistrate Elijah Makomo on charges of undermining the authority of or insulting the Office of the President.

Mloyi was remanded out of custody to next Tuesday on $100 bail pending trial.

Allegations against Mloyi are that last Saturday he made the comments at Cranborne Barracks before officers of the Police Reaction Group based at the camp.- Source- Newsday
