INFORMATION, PUBLICITY AND BROADCASTING SERVICES PERMANANT SECRETARY Mr Nick Mangwana says the wounds that (ARTUZ) leader Obert Masaraure has,were self-inflicted.
The militarised Mnangagwa Zanu pf regime who deny involvement in Itai Dzamara’s dissapearance, gukurahundi and all genocides , unsurprisingly the abduction of deny (ARTUZ) leader Obert Masaraure , even adding that his wounds are self inflicted.
The militarised Mnangagwa Zanu pf regime has dismissed as malicious and false, media reports that the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Association of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) leader Obert Masaraure was recently abducted from his home and tortured by Mnangagwa militarised Zanu pf regime security agents for recently calling on teachers to strike.
Masaraure was reportedly abducted and tortured on Wednesday night.Today, in an interview today, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services permanent secretary Mr Nick Mangagwa said the wounds that Masaraure has were self-inflicted.
“We have checked with the security services including the police and they do not know anything about that. There is not even a police report that was made. We believe that this was stage managed to put Zimbabwe in very bad light since Zimbabwe and the European Union (EU) have launched formal political dialogue,” he said.
Mr Mangwana added: “The police did not do it (abduct him). The intelligence did not do it. He inflicted the bruises on himself to give a bad picture about the Government after he had called for a strike that was not successful. It does not mean it’s the State that inflicted the bruises on him. The State does not hold a patent on bruises. They have nothing to do with the State.”

Several images of , evidence of the torture of Masaraure went viral yesterday and already the EU’s ambassador to Zimbabwe, Timo Olkkonen, has tweeted that the kidnapping and torture was “unjust and unacceptable”.
The ZLHR -Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights is highly concerned about what happened to the ARTUZ leader.
I continue to urge Zimbabweans to awaken from the slumber and stand up for their rights. The people of Zimbabwe need to grind Zimbabwe to a halt, make Zimbabwe ungovernable, force Mnangagwa to come to a round table of talks. The people have a right to protest and freedom of expression, and there is no excuse for waiting for 2023 when we can destabilise the militarised Mnangagwa Zanu pf regime and force them out of power now!
