Jonathan Moyo Donates 239 Bicycles & 10 Motorcycles To Tsholotsho Traditional Leaders

The controversial Zanu PF legislator, Professor Jonathan Moyo, arguably ‘a cat with nine ‘ lives, who has irked his Zanu PF colleagues by his love of publishing twitter posts, has once again decided to establish relevance in his Tsholotsho constituency by donating a total of 239 bicycles and 10 motorcycles with a load capacity of 500kgs. The donation to community leaders by Jonathan Moyo in his Tsholotsho constituenct is valued, worth over US$50,000.

The former minister of Information and publicity, who is credited for breathing life back into a dying out Mugabe and his Zanu PF by crafting draconian Media Laws such as AIPPA and POSA, designed to silence media houses, journalists, activists and opposition, is already focusing on a post Mugabe era in his constituency.

The political dispensation in Zimbabwe is one of ‘stomach politics’ where the electorate are not so much bothered about real issues but rather what you bring forward to the table for their immediate consumption.

He has once again clinched the winning deal by donating bicycles and motorbikes arguing that these items will improve community access, communication and coordination of community leaders activities which are headmen and village heads programmes.

To the discerning eye, 36 years after independance,  Professor Moyo, who is also the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, couldn’t have just realised that the targeted beneficiaries , namely  headmen and village heads are key players in, influencing decisions on the ground.

From the days of Zimbabwe’s liberation war, prior to Mugabe’s rule 18/04/1980, the same community  leaders had the power and influence to shift public opinion and rally support for Zanu PF from the rural masses. The Rural community has always been a heavily protected part of the electorate by Zanu PF who have always been cognisant of the role of popular support in any political victory.

Professor Jonathan Moyo rightly argues that traditional leaders are a key figure in coordinating developmental issues and therefore deserve functional modes of transport unlike politicians who can rely on mobile phones to communicate. Traditional leaders in his opinion, need direct access and engagement with the people on the ground, hence the bicycles and motorcycles donation to  traditional leaders in his Tsholotsho constituency.

As an MP he has managed to swing public opinion in his favour by first winning the ballot to become a legislator then actually going back to his community and now making a personal donation of 239 bicycles and 10 motorcycles worth over US$50,000  to community leaders generally neglected by Zanu PF except at election times.
Professor Jonathan Moyo is a man who the Tsholotsho constituency credit with bringing  cell phone network coverage and radio network coverage along with aiding villagers to obtain development loans from the Commercial Bank Of Zimbabwe (CBZ)  to initiate income generation projects for their survival, developing schools in Tsholotsho, from only one high school to at least a twelf and the tarring of dusty potholed roads , through to the electrification of  parts of some areas in Tsholotsho.

To the people of Zimbabwe, especially his community, he is doing a wonderful job, that gives him credibility and places him in a powerful negotiating position for the 2018 general election.

To the discerning eye, this is the same man suffering from political promiscuity, who, in the eighties, post Gukurahundi is well published as an anti Mugabe candidate, who later turned around and became the most powerful figure in affirming Zanu PF status as the power of oppression, shutting down media houses, causing arrests, detention, torture, killing and sending many into forced  exile through his draconian AIPPA and POSA legislation and crafting of the Zanu PF ‘NIKUV’ Manifecto for the 31st July 2013 ballot.

This is the same man who closed off opposition and activists access to the rural community through AIPPA and POSA and made it specifically, a Zanu PF domain.

Professor Jonathan Moyo’s single handedly reignited a dying out Zanu PF flame and today, millions of Zimbabweans are destitute, with little or no Service Delivery in Shelter, Electricity, Health Care, Education , Clean Water reticulation, Roads and Employment suffer because he empowered Mugabe and his Zanu PF to monopolise wealth and power by looting national wealth and resources including farms, diamonds, minerals,  mines and businesses to become filthy rich multi millionaires overnight.

Lest we forget, these filthy rich criminals will now use the proceeds of their crimes to play ‘stomach politics’ just like Jonathan Moyo is doing, in a climate where opposition forces are broken up and broke and will struggle to gain relevance in the 2018 General Election.

To the Discerning Eye, Jonathan Moyo’s  personal donation valued at over US$50 000, if anything at all, is simply an attempt to launder the proceeds of Zanu PF crime that have forced destitution upon the masses,…. .
