MUGABE will now elect new Chief Justices, deputies and judge presidents without holding public interviews as dictated by the new Zimbabwe constitution after amending it,..again!

The despot led Zanu pf regime is clearly in panic mode, having attempted to change the people’s right to vote by saying only those with the new plastic ID cards could register to vote and not those with the old ID cards. The trick was that most people who have been forcibly exiled into the diaspora , have metal ID cards. The government claims they can still change to the plastic card, register to vote then vote yet we know the system is not capable of handling massive volumes of new ID card requests.

An example of this flawed system is that the Harare registry centre at Makombe can , at the most handle a maximum of seventy cards a day. In that respect, how many diasporans have the time to spend money, fly to Harare, queue up for IDs, then again queue up for voter registration and finally fly back into Zimbabwe at election time to vote? It was simply a ploy to shut down those in defiance of Mugabe, Zim1 family, Zanu pf stalwarts and securocrats. However , under pressure, Zec department under Justice Makarau, admitted that the Registrar general Tobaiwa Mudede had no right to make any announcements of voter registration and that either plastic or metal ID are all valid for voter registration and actual voting.

Still in panic and on his back foot, after Kenyan judges annuled Uhuru Kenyatta’s electoral victory and called for a fresh vote in another sixty days, Mugabe has certainly gone into panic mode and realises that if he doesnt reign in judges in the approach to the 2018 election, he could likely lose, as he always does but he always wins through rigging the ballot eventually. Now he has amended the new Zimbabwe constitution to allow him to appoint Chief Justices, their deputies and Judge President without going to public interviews as dictated by the new constitution. It is not rocket science that this is to ensure electoral victory in the 2018 election. Wake up Zimbabwe!

The first amendment to the new Zimbabwe constitution of 2013, the constitutional amendment number one has noe been passed into law after assent by the President Robert Gabriel Mugabe.

The new law, will allow the President of Zimbabwe to appoint the Chief Justice, his deputy and the Judge President. As if thats not enough, these appointees will not need to attend public interviews as currently dictated by the constitution. I can only say, that, short of electoral reforms, there is absolutely no reason to vote.

We can all make noise and believe Mugabe will lose, but if you have been at loggerheads with the oppressive regime for as long as I have been, you understand very well that, the system is rigged and designed such that opposition will lose. Accepting to participate in a vote without electoral reforms, is simply escorting Mugabe, Zim1 family, Zanu pf stalwarts and securocrats to yet another stolen electoral victory, thus legitimising the oppressive regime.
