‘Mugabe’s Zanu PF Regime, Finalising Massive Zimbabwe Civil Service Job Cuts’

The holiday spirit of civil servants is likely to be cut short soon as Mugabe’s Zanu PF regime is  reportedly in its finalisation of the civil service cull, that is designed to cut the size of the government employee or civil service by at least half.

Chief Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku  landmark Supreme court ruling on July 17th  2015 has seen an unprecedented  loss of over 25 000 jobs in both the private sector and state run-institutions across Zimbabwe.

As part of a rationalisation exercise meant to appease multi-lateral institutions, President Mugabe has reportedly agreed to reduce his government’s wage bill from the current 83% to about 40% of state annual expenditure. The discorncerting  rumour in circulation across Zimbabwe is that generally over 55 s will be forced to retire in the pending job cuts exercise.

A current Civil Service Audit Report due to be tabled shortly,  before cabinet shows that the majority of civil servants who are deemed idle fall within a limited group of  government ministries, whilst the inclusive government of National Unity (GNU) from 2009 and 2013, demonstrated that there are  at least  80 000 ghost workers on the civil service payroll.

Even though Mugabe’s regime are traditionally corrupt, the real and pending disaster of civil service job cuts is inevitable as Mugabe’s zanu PF regime are broke and cannot sustain the ridiculous wage bill, to idle and ghost employees  in a stagnant economy.

Mugabe who promised 2million job in the  infamous Zanu PF  ‘NIKUV’  ballot victory of 31st July 2013, has bought time by focusing on all possible cuts except rationalising the civil service wage bill in fear of rebellion by a growing number of unemployed dissenters.

The last thing that Mugabe and his Zanu PF can withstand , are the final public backlash in absolute defiance to oppressive authority by suffering, hungry Zimbabweans, whilst the filthy rich, corrupt multimillionaire Mugabe,  Zim 1 family, Zanu PF stalwarts, and securocrats, own multiple farms, mines, and companies live large and enjoy an exclusively rich life at the expense of the people who helped put them into power in the first place,..ideally the same people with the power to unseat him,..and he knows that very well.
