The men are said to have drugged and given alcohol to women and girls with drink and drugs before assaulting them between 2011 and 2014 in a series of offences up to 100.

The offences included rape, human trafficking, conspiracy to incite prostitution and drug supply in which the culprits befriended over 20 victims and invited them to “sessions” at properties, mostly in the west end of the city using alcohol and drugs as bait, especially mephedrone (“Mkat”) and cannabis.

The victims, all females between 13 and 25, were targeted because they were vulnerable and were not to complain because of their circumstances, females between 13 and 25 were expected to give sexual services as payment for return for the substances given out to them.
