‘Of Sanctions Against Zimbabwe And Thugs’

A lot has been said about santions and how they have affected us economically. Here is my two cents. We need to note two things first. Firstly, these are targeted sanctions. Secondly they have indeed affected the country.
However this scenario inspires a curious position. The sanctions are targeted on Mr. Mugabe and his ZANU PF cronies. But how has that impacted the economy? That’s a critical question and here is the answer.
Mr. Mugabe’s ZANU PF has not been focusing in leading the country but plundering it’s resources. ZANU PF litterally controls the economy. They have plundered and they still do.
There is no separation between politics and business in Zimbabwe and that’s abnormal. That is the reason why those targeted sanctions have affected not just the targeted individuals but the entire economy.
What we therefore should be making noise about are not the sanctions but the greedy thugs Mr. Mugabe has nartured who are plundering Zimbabwe’s resources. They get into government not to lead but to steal.

So, our problem is not the sanctions but a reprobate crop of thugs in government. For them to cry using the sanctions mantra is actually exposing their thuggery. They have been stealing and they are still stealing. We are still grappling to make sense of the missing $15 billion for diamonds. That’s not the work of santions but of thugs.
