OPPOSITION MDC Vice President Elias Mudzuri has called for unity among all Zimbabweans saying “As we cross over into 2019, let us work towards a united, peaceful and prosperous Zimbabwe that affords equal opportunities for all regardless of our differences.” Mudzuri said. “Let us shun hate speech and violence. Hard work, patriotism and mutual respect should propel us towards a new Zimbabwe.”
 
www.newzimbabwevision.com says this is acommendable stance by MDC and remind the people, this is in sync with our scripture series as depicted in our recent article made up of verses on Unity from the Holy Bible, titled BASIC INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE LEAVING EARTH (BIBLE) 31 UNITY: Psalm 133:1 ‘How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!’
 
Unity is vital in the way we relate to those around us. It is a source of strength in teamwork and collaboration and leads to great achievements. The simplest way of believers looking at unity, is to realise that the Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12 ‘For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places’. God’s people cannot therefore fight the enemy efficiently if they are not united in faith . Believers must always be unified and grow in desire to be unified with fellow believers. This scripture series is made up of inspirational verses that encourage unity amongst God’s people.
 
1- 2 Corinthians 6:14 ‘ Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?’
 
2-Jude 1:3-4 ‘3 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord’.
 
3-Ephesians 5:5-7 ‘5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7 Therefore do not be partners with them.
 
4-Ephesians 5:11 ‘Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.’
 
5-Ephesians 4:13 ‘3 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.’
 
6-1 Corinthians 1:10 ‘I appeal to you, brothers and sisters,[a] in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought’.
 
7-John 13:35 ‘By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.’
 
8-John 17:23 ‘I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.’
 
9-Hebrews 13:1 ‘Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters’.
 
10-1 Peter 3:8 ‘Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.’
 
11-1 Peter 4:10 ‘ Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.’
 
12- Romans 12:4-5 ‘4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others’ Please share these verses from the Holy Bible freely with friends and family worldwide.
