‘Passenger Stabbed In Head And eye By Commuter Bus Staff Over seat Argument’

In a classic example of the poor duty of care by public transport operators and their employees towards passengers, a passenger was recently  subjected to savage assault whilst on a commuter bus.

The notoriously lawless commuter omnibus drivers in Zimbabwe never cease to amaze the public with their violence as alleged by charges faced by a Bulawayo Kombi conductor who appeared in West Commonage magistrate court on attempted murder charges.

Langalakhe Khumalo (21) from Pumula South, a conductor and Makhosini Sibindi (32) appeared before the West Commonage magistrate , Abednigo Ndebele on Thursday accused of allegedly stabbing a passenger after an argument over a seat on the public transport

The two were remanded in custody until 28 January for trial.after the two, including one of their passengers allegedly assaulted a  passenger over a seat argument, using a sjambok , shared knife, stabbing him in the head and eye, kicking him on the ground   and assaulting  with a  knobkerrie resulting in him being rushed for treatment to  Mpilo Central Hospital .
