Property worth thousands of dollars has been destroyed after a house caught fire early this morning in Eastlea, Harare.

The cause of the fire in not yet known but witnesses said inferno might have been caused by an electric fault.

They said they failed to control the fire in time as the gates and doors were locked though there was an ailing mother who was locked inside alone.

The Fire Brigade visited the scene later and was helped by neighbours to control the fire.

 Police visited the scene and investigations are being carried out into the possible cause of the inferno. Source – zbc
