The CIOs are allegedly being punished for failing to reveal the intelligence of the meeting before its occurance at Mugabe’s Blue Roof mansion in Borrowdale Harare and served with dismissal letters yesterday signed by new the CIO director-general Isaac Moyo and were dated February 5.
 
Among the dismissed CIOs are director of security Albert Miles Ngulube, Andrew Muzonzini (director external affairs), one Changata (assistant director security), Mugabe’s aide de camp Wonder Nyakurima (provincial intelligence officer – security), Gilbert Mudimu (Mashonaland East provincial intelligence officer [PIO]), one Chinyai (PIO for Mashonaland West), and Rusere (division intelligence officer for Harare Central), Weeds Mazowe (PIO counter intelligence), Tadzingaira Tachivei (assistant director counter intelligence), Dzingai Nhira (district intelligence officer – counter intelligence) and Kizito Gweshe (deputy director counter intelligence).
 
The dismissals come just three weeks after a mass crackdown by Mnangagwa’s administration wholesale on the Zimbabwe Republic Police .
 
Only four out of the 17 spies were above 55 years and due for due for retirement, and the total targeted for removal is 300 CIOs who allegedly will be replaced by military intelligence officers.
