PRESIDENT OF ETHIOPIA:Ethiopian members have chosen Sahle-Work Zewde, an experienced diplomat, former ambassador to Ethiopia in Senegal and Djibouti as the nation’s first and only African female president.
PRESIDENT OF ETHIOPIA:Ethiopian members have chosen Sahle-Work Zewde, an experienced diplomat, former ambassador to Ethiopia in Senegal and Djibouti as the nation’s first and only African female president.
Zewde has also held several roles including UN positions, such as head of peace-building in the Central African Republic, UN representative at the African Union.
It is important to note that according to the Ethiopian constitution, the post of president is a ceremonial role and the prime minister holds the political power in the nation. More news to follow. By Sibusiso Ngwenya
