Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe RTUZ Confirms 4th January Mass Protests

Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe RTUZ in conjunction with Zimbabwe Activist Alliance (ZAA), Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU),other civil servants unions,YARD etc will be having a Demo on the 4th of January 2016 in Harare.
RTUZ submitted a notification letter to the Police Internal Security lntelligence (PISI) department of on 31 January 2016. The letter was received by one officer who calls himself Jack Jackson and he acknowledged receipt of the letter satisfying the POSA requirement of notifying the police.
Other teachers Unions like PTUZ and ZIMTA have been invited to join in the march
The objectives of the demonstration are-:
1. To express our displeasure at the failure of gvt to pay salaries and bonus of Civil Servants.
2. To demand immediate payment of salaries and bonus
3.To condemn & reject the 7. 5% pension deduction on our meager salaries
4. To lobby gvt to restore the dignity of Civil Servants
5.To show solidarity with Health workers who are on strike and demand the payment of their salaries to avert loss of life

Demo starts @ 9:30am Market square. We walk along Mbuya Nehanda, turn into N. Mandela—4th Street—Petition Ministry of Finance @ New gvt complex —Petition Ministry of Public Service Kaguvi building.
