Sheffield woman, Sherrie Clarke, imprisoned 6 weeks for Racially Aggravated Harassment, of Newzimbabwevision Editor in Chief Sibusiso Ngwenya

SHEFFIELD WOMAN, Sherrie Clarke, imprisoned six weeks for Racially Aggravated Harassment, of Newzimbabwevision Editor in Chief Sibusiso Ngwenya.www.newzimbabwevision.com says, the world is too divided and people of all colour, race, creed, religion, gender, wealth or disability status need to unite and respect each other’s differences, steer clear of all hate, annimosity, retrogressive mentality and instead, work together to save the planet and give all our children a better world, safe , amicable, progressive and happy future. As we approach the end of 2019, the accompanying story is a chilling experience, I had at the Sheffield , Howden House Council offices where the difference between being attacked by a scared mob, lay in my calm response, smile and deescalation of the threat to my life along with exiting the hostile space or retaliation. I as always, chose to draw myself out of this and reflect upon what had just transpired then handed everything over to the law because in Uk , we are all equal before the law. Let this always be a guide to one’s reaction as it may very well be the difference between injury, life and death not just of yourself but rather an unlimited number of innocent people, therefore think far ahead and act accordinglybin a mature , lawful and progressive manner…..Discuss, and feel free to share! by Sibusiso Ngwenya
In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, a hate crime is a “criminal offence perceived, by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by a hostility or prejudice” based on five criteria, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation and transgender identity’ A Sheffield woman, Sherrie Clarke has been sentenced by Sheffield Magistrates Court to six weeks in prison for Racially/ religiously aggravated intentional harassment / alarm/ distress-words towards the Newzimbabwevision Editor in Chief Mr Sibusiso Ngwenya (pictured) on 21 March 2019 at the Howden House Sheffield Council Offices.

Sibusiso Ngwenya, was proceeding to the bathroom facilities when he looked up at the signs to be sure he was entering the gentleman’s not ladies facilities, when Sherrie Clarke called out at him from right across the room, above a crowd of people mostly seated, waiting to be seved at the Howden House council offices.

The crowd included families and children as Sherrie shouted ‘look at him, can’t even read, go back to Africa, you ISIS…… In absolute shock at this unprovoked racially aggravated harassment, by Sherrie Clarke, Sibusiso Ngwenya realised instantly the very mention of ISIS is a serious threat to himself as people could be easily alarmed and attack him in perceived defence from an ISIS attack, while others including families , and children could dash for the exit and be in jured as they trampled over each other rushing to escape.

Deeply embarassed, shocked and feeling hurt and distressed by this attack, Sibusiso Ngwenya, being a high profile figure across media globally, calmly had the sense to politely raise his hand , open palm, and even smile to allay people’s fears and show all who had turned around to see the alleged ISIS, that he is not a threat to anyone and the public had no reason to panic in the tense situation unfolding before them.

Sibusiso Ngwenya proceeded to use the bathroom facilities then before he left he spoke to a lady security guard, who frantically insisted that he must leave as his presence was giving Sherrie Clarke the platform to abuse him. Being a peaceful character and not wanting to be in any way publicly identified as an ISIS, Sibusiso Ngwenya then left the Howden house after assurance by a senior lady council member of staff that the incidence had been recorded.

A few minutes later outside the building, Sibusiso Ngwenya then called the same council place to ensure the record was in place, and the next morning, feeling deeply hurt and traumatised by this, Sibusiso Ngwenya proceeded to report the matter in person to South Yorkshire Police Snig Hill , Sheffield.

Subsequently the police identified this as an act of racially/ religiously/ aggravated intentional harassment/ alarm/ distress and proceeded to conduct investigations and give Sibusiso Ngwenya the needed support by phone, personal visits and gave him all information regards how to access all needed support before giving the matter to the CPS to determine if the case would be prosecuted in court.

Initially, the case was due to appear before court on 8 August 2019, but she did not turn up in court, then it was set to be held on the 23rd August 2019 , a day on which Sherrie refused to be taken by the police to court, even though she was in custody. This is acceptable in Uk as one can refuse to be taken to court even though the police have them in custody.

Sherrie Clarke eventually appeared before the Sheffield Magistrates court and was sentenced to six weeks imprisonment for the offence. More news to follow. Sibusiso Ngwenya
