ONE person died while three others were seriously injured when a vehicle they were travelling in rammed a Zupco bus and was trapped underneath it near Thembiso Children’s Home in Bulawayo. Bulawayo chief fire officer Richard Peterson confirmed the accident and said those who survived suffered critical injuries. “According to witnesses, the light vehicle was travelling behind a Zupco bus. The Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO), whose 50 brand-new buses are bonded over non-payment of import duty, has appealed to the taxman to release some of the buses to allow the firm to quickly raise funds to settle the debt.
