In 2013, miners including Nyazvigo and his co-applicants were driven away and dispossessed of their mining claims by the Gushungo holdings security officer Mkhululi Nyoni and the Zanu pf partisan ZRP .
Their removal was engineered by deposed former president Robert Mugabe and his motor mouth wife Grace Mugabe, who argued that they were mining in a protected zone, President Robert Mugabe’s family business, Gushungo Holdings in Mazoe.
The evicted miners, last November after the fall of Robert Mugabe and wife Grace Mugabe, returned to their sites, but again the ZRP and security officer Nyoni barred Smithfield Farm return by the three men to conduct mining operations on their claims.
A Justice Happius Zhou has ordered the police and Mugabe not to interfere with small-scale gold miners after an urgent chamber application was submitted by Shepherd Nyazvigo, Bright Mawonga and Mohammed Rezwani Khan.
