UNITED STATES EMBASSY in Harare bars use of Air Zimbabwe by citizens and staff over flying safety concerns
Recently the national airline Air Zimbabwe a.k.a ‘Mazarura’ one of whose top executives is Mugabe’s son in law Simba Chikore the husband to Bona, was issued with a ban from flying European airspace due to safety concerns raised over failure to meet specific international flying safety standards ‘
As a result of this the United States embassy in Harare has reportedly barred its citizens and staff from using the troubled carrier Air Zimbabwe with immediate effect.
Such a stance from a powerful nation like USA may be the game changer needed to shake up and weed out the rot from Air Zimbabwe as the impact is far reaching.
Tourists and other international travellers including business people who bring in much needed forex, business and international coverage along with diaspora Zimbabweans and families will obviously steer clear of the troubled airline unless if not concerned about their own safety and welfare.
