UPDATE ON THE RUSSIAN AIRBUS A321 CRASH IN MOUNT SINAI, EGYPT.
Russian and Egyptian authorities will soon open and start analysing the black boxes to piece together what transpired to this doomed flight and we will likely have information pertaining to the plane’s final moments within the next few hours.
The debris from the crash is spread over a massive area that spans 30 square kilometers, a worrying indication of what may turn out to be a major sudden and dramatic event, in which there was no distress call from the pilot, having brought down the flight. .
Russian authorities have put up a shrine at St Petersburg airport, the planes expected destination before the crash, for relatives to place their condolences. radio stations, TV stations and cultural events have been instructed to suspend all entertainment programmmes for today, the official day of national Mourning in Russia for the 224 passengers and crew.
Emirates airlines, Lufthansa and Air France have all , for ‘safety’ suspended flights over Sinai until investigations can determine, what brought down the plane. by Sibusiso Ngwenya
