Minister Of Justice /VP Mnangagwa Travels To Rome For ‘No Justice Without Life’ Conference

Zimbabwe is one of the few countries that still has the Death Sentence in place. 9th edition of the International Conference of the Ministers of Justice. A conference will be held in Rome  themed: ‘No Justice Without Life’.

Ministers of Justice will  debate  upon the abolition of the death sentence in Rome at the 9th edition of the International Conference of the Ministers of Justice.

Zimbabwe’s Vice President, also, controversially  the Minister of Justice because of his role in the horrendous ‘gukurahundi genocide’ in which at least 20, 000 Ndebeles from Matebeleland and Midlands were butchered by Mugabe’s North Korean trained Zanu PF Fifth Brigade, also formerly Mugabe’s personal security and aid during the liberation struggle , has left for Rome to attend the conference which will stretch from  the 22nd  to the 23rd of  February 2016

Currently, Mugabe’s Zanu PF regime, views its position on the death penalty as a ‘Pro-Life’ stance having lessened the offences that attract the death penalty. Zimbabwe’s new constitution specifically has provisions in it, under which, women are  exempt from the death penalty.

While this is good on paper, to the discerning eye, the Vice President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, a Zanu PF stalwart and Mugabe’s long term ally, is, to many democratic Zimbabweans, not the best candidate where Justice is advanced.

Mnangagwa, to most Zimbabweans, stands out as a key pillar to the despot, 92 year old Mugabe’s ‘life time presidency’, because of his ruthless conduct and brutal manner in which he has always had a hand in silencing   the people’s voice against oppression by Mugabe.

His role as Justice Minister is nothing more than simply legalising death, a professional role that has been excecuted well by Zanu PF over Mugabe’s 36 year rule, in terminating opposition forces, journalists, activists and even overzealous Zanu PF stalwarts over the years.
