‘VP Mpkoko Is Crazy For Trivialising Mugabe’s Murderous Gukurahundi Genocide’-Tenda Biti

People’s democratic party president Tendai Biti has said he is angry at  Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko over his trivialisation of Gukurahundi massacres.

Ever since being picked to be Vice President, Mphoko has infuriated many people in Matabeleland over his Gukurahundi remarks.

Mphoko has maintained that Gukurahundi which saw more than 20 000 people killed by the crack 5th Brigade was a conspiracy and masterminded by the British.

However,  Biti said Mphoko is a ‘crazy man’.

“We have the duty to preach national healing. We have regions like Matabeleland which has been excluded from national development.

“If you go to Lupane, Tsholotsho you think you are in another Zimbabwe because of lack of development.

“Then we have scars of Gukurahundi, we cannot as a country ignore such a crime and say that part of history did not occur.

“That is why I am very angry with that man called Mboko (Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko). You cannot come from this region and seek to re-write history.
