FORMER Zanu-PF activist William Mutumanje also known as Acie Lumumba, who was wanted for questioning on charges of undermining the President as defined in Section 33 (2) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act after he insulted President Mugabe last Thursday, has surrenderedhimself to the police.

Lumumba, who was in the company of lawyers, surrendered himself to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Law and Order Section yesterday afternoon.

A source close to the investigations said Lumumba was yesterday still assisting with investigations and is expected to appear in court today.

Last week, Lumumba pronounced himself as chairman of the party saying that Viva Zimbabwe aimed at bringing change in Zimbabwe.

In rantings, Lumumba used the “F” word to insult the President. “Mr Mugabe, I guess you have not been really insulted,’ said Mr Lumumba. “You are now used to being insulted by protesters. You are used to being insulted by vendors, you are used to being insulted in the hallways.

“You have never seen Zimbabweans really angry. So, here is the red line. Mr President Robert Gabriel Mugabe f*** you.”

Lumumba, while addressing a handful of supporters, said although he was leader of Viva Zimbabwe, he was not going to contest the 2018 Presidential elections saying he would support any candidate he considered to be appropriate for the post. Reason Razao and Naledi Sande . source-chronicle
