‘Wartime Generals Close To Mugabe & Mnangagwa Died Mysteriously’-Coincidence? ?

To the ‘Discerning Eye’ it can’t be a coincidence that the two powerful war time generals, Solomon Mujuru and Josiah Magama Tongogara who led the armed struggle for independance while Robert Mugabe was incarcerated in prison for a decade from 1964 to 1974, both suffered a horrendous end to life.

Most Zimbabweans knew that General Josiah Tongogara, who was destined to be Zimbabwe’s president, died in a road accident in Mozambique in December 1979 while heading back to Zimbabwe after the negotiation of a peace deal ending the war ‘Lancaster Agreement’,

Travelling with him, were Minister Oppah Muchinguri, who is commonly claimed to have been Mugabe’s girl friend. She survived the accident.

Of interest, is that Zimbabwe’s Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who was Mugabe’s war time personal aide and security, 36 years later has turned around to discount fellow Zanu PF Minister Oppah Muchinguri’s version of General Josiah Magama’s death being a road accident.

Emmerson Mnangagwa’s shock announcement, is that General Josiah Magama Tongogara was murdered though we are yet to hear full detail from him about what exactly transpired.

Its important to note that Emmerson Mnangagwa was a brother in law to General Josiah Magama Tongogara, having married Tongogara’s sister ‘Jayne’. Tongogara’s sister was Mnangagwa’s second wife before his current wife Auxillia, the ‘former ‘Central Intelligence Officer (CIO)’.

In the early hours of 15 August 2011 the now retired Gen Solomon Mujuru and husband to the dismissed Vice President Joice Mujuru, died in a fire at the Mujuru, Alamein Farm homestead in Beatrice.
The fire that reportedly killed the General, was in a ground floor room, where he could simply step out through the window, but instead he was burnt to ashes in a most suspicious and yet to be explained death.

To date, no one has been arrested or charged with the General’s death, and even more suspicious, is that the former Vice President Mujuru, also the general’s ex wife, made no credible efforts to resolve the issue while she was in power.

The retired General Solomon Mujuru was viewed as the ‘king maker’ in Zanu PF and considered the most powerful man in Zanu PF being the only one who dared challenge Mugabe if in disagreement with the President’s position.

Its interesting that General Solomon Mujuru and General Josiah Magama Tongogara, key players in the liberation of Zimbabwe and elevating Mugabe, were unceremoniously disposed of through a ‘road accident’ and a ‘fire’, yet the two individuals close to all, President Robert Mugabe and Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who , murderous ‘Gukurahundi’ campaign across Matebeleland and Midlands in which they butchered over 20 000 Ndebele’s, live on as if nothing ever happened.

Mugabe has always had Mnangagwa in key positions from being his war time personal aide and scurity, through to post independance State Security Minister, in charge of the brutal CIO, then Minister of Justice, responsible for drafting laws and Peace and Reconcilliation Bills.

My point is that, after the Gukurahundi Genocide, Mugabe went on to preside over the elimination of Zanu PF stalwarts, opposition and activists, murderous eviction of white farmers, destructive 2005 Murambatsvina exercise, 2008 butchering of opposition, Chiadzwa gunship helicopter genocide amongst countless crimes against humanity, including sending millions of Zimbabweans into forced exile and the murder and disappearance of activists such as ‘Itai Dzamara.,

Mnangagwa, has been the despot president’s right man, if not the chief architect of all attrocities as non could happen without his full knowledge and consent, being so close to Mugabe and effectively, the man to protect Mugabe all the way from the liberation struggle , from the time of Mugabe murdering through Mugabe’s life presidency. If we drop our guard and allow this situation to perpetuate any further, it follows that Mnangagwa is there to protect Mugabe from prosecution over their joint crimes against humanity in his retirement all the way to his death

Replacing Mugabe with Mnangagwa, evidently the hands that operate behind the scenes, would simply, be, no different from moving the same shoe from one foot to the other. If anything at all we would be signing up for a more brutal hold on power as Zanu PF Mugabe and all his Zim 1 family, Zanu PF stalwarts and securocrats continue to monopolise wealth and power.

At the moment Emmerson Mnangagwa is struggling to get out of the hole that he dug for himself by attempting to deny his heartless utterings at the height of Gukurahundi.

Mnangagwa has inadvertently given Zimbabweans, an early Christmas. By denying documented articles and threatening to sue David Coltart, he has committed himself to ‘Political Suicide’ because now, whether he suse or not, denies or admits guilt, he is dammned! Wake up Zimbabwe,. We cannot settle for further suffering under Mugabe and his Zanu PF under the cover of stability’ while our kith and kin live destitute lives.
