ZANU PF MPs REFUSED TO OBSERVE A MOMENT OF SILENCE IN HONOUR of Dabengwa “We don’t observe minute of silence on heroes who are not members of this house.”

ZANU PF MPs REFUSED TO OBSERVE A MOMENT OF SILENCE IN HONOUR of Dabengwa “We don’t observe minute of silence on heroes who are not members of this house.”ZANU PF MPS displayed a highly controversial, divisive and clearly tribalist stance when the Zimbabwe Parliament refused to honour the Zipra Intelligence Supremo , the late Dumiso Dabengwa through a minute of silence in parliament.
This clearly angered ZAPU officials who immediatelydeclared that the funeral and burial of the late Dumiso Dabengwa will not be led by the militarised Mnangagwa Zanu pf regime, but instead by ZAPU and the Dumiso Dabengwa family.
The motion to hold a minute of silence had been moved by Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa in to the August House honour Dabengwa.
“Dabengwa was not only a war veteran but a former member of this house, I would like to propose a minute of silence be observed lest a tribal card be raised in future,” Mliswa had proposed.
ZANU PF Members of Parliament vehemently opposed the motion and the Deputy Speaker Tsitsi Gezi swiftly said, “We don’t observe minute of silence on heroes who are not members of this house.”
The refusal by Parliament to honour Dabengwa has hardened ZAPU officials as it brings back painful memories of the gukurahundi genocide led by Emmerson Mnangagwa a, Chiwenga and Shiri when they butchered over 20,000 unarmed Ndebeles, further widening the division between the Ndebeles and the Shona’s as there clearly is no spirit of reconcilliation in existence.
Today, Tuesday morning the ZAPU Secretary General, Strike Mkandla, informed journalists at a press conference at the late Dumiso Dabengwa’s residence that they were grateful for the recognition of Dumiso Dabengwa as a hero but not desperate for help, but they will accept the help that the State might offer but it must not be attached to them taking over the process.
ZAPU are organising a memorial service to be held on Friday at White City stadium for the late national Hero Dumiso Dabengwa, adding that if government representatives attend they will be given afforded the opportunity to address mourners.
The late Intelligence supremo , Dumiso Dabengwa will be buried at his Ntabazinduna rural home, the constituency of the controversial Chief Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiweni a Ntabazinduna traditional leader, son of the late Chief Khayisa Ndiweni, on Saturday. The MDC leader Nelson Chamisa, will be attending the memorial service and burial .
