How War Veterans And Mugabe, Loot National Wealth, Monopolise Wealth And Power, While Zimbabwe Is Burning

Mugabe’s Zanu PF regime liberation struggle War veterans are  beneficiaries of the system, through receipt of  loans ,medical cover, school fees, pensions,  funeral costs, and  various other welfare benefits.
War veterans are, arguably, the greatest financial drain from Zimbabwe’s meagre revenues, generated from a dead economy. Zimbabwe reportedly has a total of 43 000 children of war veterans who have been registered to benefit from Mugabe’s Zanu PF regime school fees fund.
The Secretary for Welfare Services for War Veterans, War Collaborators, Ex-Political Detainees and Ex-Restrictees Brigadier-General (Retired) Walter Tapfumaneyi has indicated that Mugabe’s Zanu PF regime, will shortly release a total of US$6,4 million, to meet the costs of  school fees for  children and dependents of war veterans of the liberation struggle..
Earlier this year in April, Mugabe was forced to pacify the disillusioned war veterans by promising an improved welfare for their children and beneficiaries  and as promised, released  about US$6,million to  cover first term fees for these beneficiaries.
The current batch of payments being disbursed, are mainly POSB, Cabs and CBZ  account holders and they are already in receipt of the funds while the rest will have received funds by next week.
Rtd Brig-Gen Tapfumaneyi  also announced that a ‘People’s Own Wealth Empowerment Right (Power) Zimbabwe Private Limited’, a multi-million-dollar initiative designed to boost the liberation struggle war veterans’ financial standing through investing in empowerment in business such as stakes in the lucrative agricultural , mining, media and a whole whost of other investments.

To the ‘Discerning Eye, newzimbabwevision’ , this is yet again, another attempt to pacify the jittery war veterans who are calling for 92 year old  Mugabe to resolve his succession issue.

Mugabe always finds away of sidelining the issue because he knows war veterans want Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa to take up the post of President, while he prefers his own wife, First lady Grace  Mugabe to succeed him, hence the deadly factionalism in Zanu PF.
The war veterans have always payed a leading role in determining the political dispensation in Zimbabwe, including the Liberation war up to cease fire in 1970, thus automatically influential in delivering Independance on 18 April 1980, then the murderous  gukurahundi, which was mainly tribalist North Korean trained fifth brigade  Zanu PF war veterans crushing Matebeleland  and Midlands Zapu War veterans powerbase  by killing 20 000 Ndebele civillians  leaving Matebeleland and Midlands  war torn from , soon after independance in  the early 1980s up until 1987, while the rest of the country was left in peace, yet starved of information about the massacre of innocent civilians happening on their doorstep.
Zimbabwe was involved in several conflicts including Mozambique, Angola, and  DRC wars amongst other conflicts on the African continent ever since Independance, thus keeping war veterans, war Collaborators, Ex-Political Detainees and Ex-Restrictees  occupied in military activities.  These military operations were all coordinated by the Generals and senior officers in place, themselves war veterans,
Most Zanu PF regime Ministries and  parastatals are run by Zanu PF War Veterans, whilst recruitment in the Teaching, Nursing, police, army, airforce  favours war veterans, war Collaborators, Ex-Political Detainees and Ex-Restrictees .
The Zanu PF war veterans led the, racist,  murderous, white farmer eviction, land grab exercise in the early 2000, which crushed Zimbabwe’s agriculture and economy, forcibly exiling millions of innocent Zimbabweans.
Suffice it is to say that Zimbabwe was liberated by war veterans, destroyed by war veterans and is now held at ransom by war veterans who are more privileged than the ordinary , destitute Zimbabwean who never went to war. We are now forced to watch as Zanu PF plays a game of musical chairs in every area, in politics government, business, mining, and so on by  giving priority to war veterans, war Collaborators, Ex-Political Detainees and Ex-Restrictees.
By doing this, Mugabe is only buying time to secure his freedom until death because he fears being hauled before the Hague to face prosecution over his crimes against humanity.  He therefore favours   war veterans, war Collaborators, Ex-Political Detainees and Ex-Restrictees because they are the guardians of the liberation struggle, hence they are deemed a safety valve for his future.
However they would prefer that the 92 year old steps aside and allows their fellow war veteran Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa to suceed him, but he prefers to elevate his wife First lady Grace Mugabe to succeed him in power  and protect  him from prosecution and protect the filthy amounts of wealth they have looted over 36 years including the missing Chiadzwa US$15 Billion that Mugabe cannot ‘account for’.  By Sibusiso Ngwenya
