PM THERESA MAY ANNOUNCES THAT UK will become the first G7 nation to make zero net emissions law

The outgoing PM’s announcement will lead to UK emissions after 2050 offset making Britain a net zero greenhouse gas producer.
Scientists predict that Carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere is predicted to rise drastically in 2019 based on Met Office warnings, a major climate change concern for the future , not just for Britain but for the whole planet. he outgoing prime minister is to announce a legally binding agreement on Wednesday to put the UK on the path to end its contribution to climate change in just over 30 years.
After 2050, any emissions produced by the UK would be offset by absorbing an equivalent amount from the atmosphere and improve public health, air quality and biodiversity, making UK the first G7 country to legislate for net zero emissions.
Mrs May who will exit Downing Street when she hands over power to a successor next month in July 2019, is setting a great legacy for herself through this
Mrs May said: “As the first country to legislate for long-term climate targets, we can be truly proud of our record in tackling climate change. We have made huge progress in growing our economy and the jobs market while slashing emissions.
“Now is the time to go further and faster to safeguard the environment for our children. This country led the world in innovation during the industrial revolution, and now we must lead the world to a cleaner, greener form of growth.
“Standing by is not an option. Reaching net zero by 2050 is an ambitious target, but it is crucial that we achieve it to ensure we protect our planet for future generations.”
Mrs May will meet science and engineering students on Wednesday to discuss the target.
Zimbabweans are definetely need to wade into the fight to protect our planet by playing our part in this. We can contribute strongly to cutting down emmissions by using the abundant sunlight energy we have to generate electricity to run our homes, businesses, trains, cars, buses and banning non renewable fuel systems such as petrol and diesel engines.
.Farms can be equiped with solar panels and connected to a national electricity supply grid where they feed into the national power greed and earn from the electricity harvests. In an ideal world, rural areas , hospitals, schools, traffic lights, street lights, homes and businesses should by now be running on Green electricity, no coal or non renewable fuel generators.
We may be aland locked nation but we still need to be involved in ending plastic pollution such as banning single plastic use, infact banning plastic production altogether, monitoring the use and disposal of chemicals in agriculture especially tobacco farming which contributes to skin and lung disease, cancer through smoking , along with mining chemical pollution such as cyanide in natural water , rivers and dams.
We all need to accept that the planet belongs to everyone and , it is our duty to protect the climate for all our children all races, tribes, religions, gender and more. This effectively leaves a great legacy for all our descendants but we need to act now because we will shortly go beyond the point of no return in terms of the damage to our climate.
Everyone worldwide, needs to fight for peace, equality, good governance and democracy, human rights, health care, education, water, electricity, housing, roads, transportand infrastructure development, climate protection, clean air, zero emmissions and more together. We need unity of purpose irrespective of race, tribe, colour, religion, gender, political orientation or creed, knowing as our failure to act now, will have unimaginable negative consequences and irrepairable damage to the lovely planet we call earth..wake up people.
