The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Bindura were reportedly attacked by an angry mob celebrating new year’s eve near Tendai Hall in Mashonaland Central capital Bindura.
We have received reports that the angry mob yesterday on new years eve, near Tendai Hall, responded angrily by attacking police, after Bindura police stormed Tendai Hall and used dogs in an attempt to disperse the crowd. The crowd managed to resist the police charge and forced cops to flee with police dogs .
The hall was damaged by fire in the melee, which led to police bringing a support tanker and tear gas to calm the revellers while the Fire brigade extinguished the fire. More news to follow. By Sibusiso Ngwenya
