Chimombe (37) a South Africa based journalist, also son to veteran journalist Emilia Zindi was shot dead in a on Sunday by assailants who took away his vehicle in Cape town..
Chimombe who was due to return home permanently in August, was shot dead after he refused to hand over his car keys to the robbers who drove away in his vehicle which was abandoned a few kilometres away from themurder scene.
The family are in need of R20 000 to repatriate his body to Beitbridge from where the family’s funeral house arrangement will take over according to Zindi.
Zindi added, “We will continue to lose our children to these violent deaths because some selfish politicians fail to sort the mess they created. We have lost . . . loved ones and our dignity to misrule pioneered by (former President) Robert Mugabe and we need a break,” said one veteran journalist. More news to follow.
