Zesa Holdings has hiked tariffs with immediate effect by a staggering 583% from $3 for 50 kilowatts per hour to $20,50, guaranteed to trigger a rise in prices of goods and services in Zimbabwe.
Currently Zimbabwe is experiencing rolling power cuts ,averaging about 15 hours a day and Zesa had warned the Mnangagwa Zanu pf government that Zimbabwe is at risk of a total black- out if its electricity prices are not raised. Paul Ngwenya
