ACCIDENT:THREE PEOPLE killed in accident at 20 km peg along Gweru-Shurugwi highway
Three people died at the 20 km peg along Gweru-Shurugwi highway after a Toyota Altezza light vehicle they were travelling in, allegedly was speeding, hit a pothole and crashed into a tree off the road near Chikwingwizha Seminary turnoff.
Zimbabwe’s Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Transport and Infrastructural Development by MPs listed at least 12 causes of accidents including poor roads, speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, driver fatigue, use of mobiles while driving and running red lights, used tyres, poor maintenance of vehicles, animals and no traffic enforcement were also listed as accident causers.
