DEFENCE MINISTER Sidney Sekeramayi is (73) is slowly seen now a potential successor to Mugabe in the now open again race

ZIMBABWE’S DEFENCE MINISTER Sidney Sekeramayi is (73) is slowly seen now a potential successor to the embattled Zanu PF stalwart, Vice President and Justice Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa (74) in succeeding Robert Mugabe as the next president.

The two have tainted history in relation to the murderous gukurahundi genocide of the early 80s in which at least 20.000 unarmed Ndebeles from Matebeleland and Midlands were butchered by Mugabe and his Fifth Brigade army,

Defence minister Sidney Sekeramayi was back then the Defence Minister for Zimbabwe and Emmerson Mnangagwa was the Minister of State Security. The two were key figures in Mugabe’s successful subjugation of Matebeleland people through the horrendous gukurahundi genocide of 1983 to 1987.

Mnangagwa has always been rewarded with key posts such as Minister of State Security and Justice Minister while Sidney Sekeramayi has alternated between Defence minister and State Security Minister and back again to Defence minister, all key positions in protecting Mugabe and Zanu pf stalwarts from prosecution over their crimes against humanity which Mnangagwa and Sekeramayi know, in and out.

It is also reported that, while on one hand Professor Jonathan Moyo destroyed Emmerson Mnangagwa’s credibility to Mugabe, he went on to give an effusive picture of Defence Minister Sidney Sekeramayi’s leadership style , political experience and other positive images. The Defence minister Sidney Sekeramayi is said to be the only ‘untainted’ Cabinet minister ever-present since Zanu-PF came into power in 1980, thirty seven years ago when President Robert Mugabe took power. Sekeramayi has alternated between serving as Minister of Defence since independence in 1980 and Minister of Defence (2002-2009 ) and Minister of State Security from (2009 to 2013) and then Defence Minister (2013 to 2018) More news to follow,..by Sibusiso Ngwenya..

See below , a photo of the three key players in the murderous gukurahundi genocide between 1983 and 1987. The three are the then Defence Minister Sidney Sekeramayi (L) with now Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa (centre) who at that time was State Security minister and Zimbabwe National Army Commander General Constantine Chiwenga (right) who at that time was Army commander heading Bulawayo 1 Brigade at Llewellin Barracks in Bulawayo.

Bulawayo was a critical lauch pad for all operations and raids across Matebeleland. These three powerful key players throughout the thirty seven year course of history with Mugabe in charge have always protected Mugabe’s monopoly over wealth and power by subverting the people’s freedom. Mugabe has always rewarded them well with key positions as seen and in a way protecting himself from losing elections, power and being prosecuted and jailed for his crimes against humanity.

You can look at gukurahundi, murambatsvina, chiadzwa genocide, murderouis white farmer evictions from commercial farms, and the 2008 elections violence amongst all other crimes against humanity, The three are powerful players who have protected Mugabe and his oppressive regime and kept us at bay by inflicting harm, fear and real death, disappearance and forced exile of many victims by virtue of holding office and being in charge of operations by men below them… Wake up Zimbabwe!
