Government to translate Zimbabwe’s new Constitution into all sixteen officially recognised languages, so that everyone is made aware of their rights and able to fight for them

Government to translate Zimbabwe’s new Constitution into all sixteen officially recognised languages, so that everyone is made aware of their rights and able to fight for them.
Gvt signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC) to translate the national Constitution into all 16 official languages.

It has taken relentless pressure by the people of Zimbabwe, to force the government of Zimbabwe to cater for all people in the country. newzimbabwevision has always recognised, respected and encouraged all Zimbabweans to embrace our methods of information dissemination, which include the various media platforms we offer to everyone online.

The biggest challenge all along was working in an environment which allowed two ‘problematic groups’ the Ndebele and Shona who over the years attempted to showcase their animosity towards each other, tribal or racial hatred online through their comments.

newzimbabwevision.com continuously deletes any such unwelcome comments and encourages the public to post in English a common language understood by all who have been to school, starting from Grade 1 in Zimbabwe.

This is because what we disseminate is not just for a particular tribe or race but for everyone, black, coloured, white, any race or tribe and Zimbabweans have spread out all across the diaspora, married into different races and tribes and the families that people live amongst, with and are raising all want to know, Zimbabwean issues, past, now and ever after, so I repeat my calls for people to continuously embrace everyone in debate.

In recognition of such noble initiatives Zimbabwe’s new Constitution which was put in place by the GNU in 2013 was originally drawn out and is currently in English with only abridged versions written in just eight vernacular languages.

That to newzimbabwevision.com has always been a great failure because the nation was failing to recognise all tribes and languages as the national constitution recognises atotal of sixteen languages and in terms of Section 7 of the new Constitution its imperative to promote public awareness of the Constitution to all Zimbabweans.

The government in recognition of this important mammoth task will now translate Zimbabwe’s new constitution into all sixteen official languages.

We have done well to pressure the government to this point and I continue to say Zimbabwe, well done! we are all important and must all engage in rebuilding Zimbabwe as one,as no one is more important than the other. The only reason why it has taken so long for the government to heed our calls for the constitution to be translated was that when it was established , it was done under pressure by the GNU and Mugabe, Zanu PF stalwarts and securocrats thrived on starving the masses of information and then feeding them with propaganda.
What we as newzimbabwevision.com have done all along is years of well documented history online, in the common English language for the whole globe to understand. We have therefore won a long running battle for all languages in the constitution to be recognised as the government has finally caved in to pressure.

The use of a common language, English is critical in awakening the people as over the years many have chosen to keep their heads buried in the sand . The whole world is now learning a different style of protest, removal of dictators, peaceful defiance by civilians with the military alongside the people. Africa particularly SADC and AU countries will have learnt alot over the years through to the removal of Mugabe to date, from us. Let our education, Christian peacefulness, and progressive nature now be a learning point for the whole world in how to handle such a crisis like the one we lived through, under Mugabe..
