Operation Restore Legacy by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF), which ended recently drew changes in the traffic police system.

The changes are meant to restore credibility as listed in a memo issued to all police stations in Zimbabwe.

According to the memo, Traffic enforcement and road safety duties are to be done by Traffic Branch who shall ensure a co-ordinated weekly roadblock schedule and roadblock spacing set at one roadblock per 100 kilometres.

Traffic fines, will now only be collected on the road but where necessary and for serious offences, police are to take the violator to a police station for acceptance or deposit fine in the form of Z69J or compilation of a docket and no spot fines will be imposed on drivers and the force will have zero tolerance on corruption.
