Rumours about people drowning in the Limpopo river.

There is a message circulating on social media claiming that, Zimbabwean workers have drowned attempting to cross Limpopo river back into South Africa. It is difficult to make a follow up, since the message does not have any contact details. We are busy trying to check if this is true. We have been able to speak with one family who have confirmed that, their relatives were arrested by the South African police last week. We are yet to get a family or families who can confirm that their loved ones indeed drowned. We are calling on the members of the public to assist us with credible information. If you have any authentic information, please report to the nearest police or to us including missing relatives, we will alert the authorities.

We are calling on social media users not to circulate messages of this nature which can not be traced to anyone. This creates a lot of confusion within us as a community in South Africa and to our relatives back in Zimbabwe. Let us try our best to verify messages before circulating.
