THE GOVERNMENT TO mount a maximum of four roadblocks per province to ensure hassle free travel

Home Affairs Minister Dr Ignatius Chombo . speaking before a Parliamentary Portfolio committee on Transport and Infrastructural Development chaired by Chegutu West MP Dexter Nduna (Zanu-PF). has ordered the Zimbabwe Republic Police Commissioner General of Police Augustine Chihuri to remove all unnecessary roadblocks to ensure hassle free travelling.
 
Deputy Minister Mguni indicated that as from next week, there will only be a maximum of road blocks mounted per province should not have more than four roadblocks and only increased if there are security concerns relating to robberies, human and drug trafficking by criminals.
 
The Minister admitted that there is absolutely no need for the police to inspect vehicle fitness and bus routes adding that government will integrate police, Vehicle Inspection Department, Zimbabwe National Roads Administration, Road Motor Transport and Central Vehicle Registry to limit the challenges in road management and ensure hassle free travel for buses and cars.
