US President Donald Trump plans to withdraw from Paris Agreement on climate change reached by 195 nations in Paris in 2015
The biggest threat to the future of our children worldwide, is the issue of climate change as seen over the last few months particularly last year with thousands of African migrants fleeing dying out lands to Europe.
The reality before us all is that, President Donald Trump now plans to live up to his electoral campaign where he promised to pull the US out of a global agreement to fight the growing threat of climate change signed up to by a total of by hence the title the Paris Agreement
Donald Trump who has reportedly previously disputed climate change obviously does not subcribe to the pact, which would see the world fighting climate change and global emissions ofcarbon dioxide from burning of fossil fuels.
It is accepted that global change is causing a rise in the planet temperature, droughts clearly seen in Africa, unsettled weather patterns such as more violent storms, a rise in sea levels .
The Paris Agreement is accepted by the majority of the world’s nations but not Nicaragua and Syria and so by withdrawing the US, Trump would be joining the ‘notorius two’
After China, the US emits the highest level of pollution and such a pull out would expose not only the US but the planet to more of the challenges listed above and expose our children and future descendants to a horrible future if not an early end to the planet.
His decision, will obviously have economic, political and security concerns as the relevant leaders of various nations will be forced to shape their foreign affairs positions as they review their business links and implications of being pro or anti Trump on their own economies and jobs of their own supporters in their countries which may very well depend on being pro Trump and America even if clearly not good for the future of the globe.
Time after time, profits have proved to be the driving force in this world dating from as far back as colonisation, oil and minerals exploration, rebel groups support and wars worldwide. Obviously money makes the world go round,..well maybe no more as the world is doomed by some of these horrendous decisions primarily driven by the love of money wealth and power and little or nothing about the ordinary street person who continuously dream that these powerful figures will secure the future of our children and descendants,….obviously not!
