USA-based businesswoman Violet Mariyacha to challenge Tsvangirai and Mugabe for Zimbabwe Presidency in 2018

A USA based business woman Violet Mariyacha surprised Zimbabwe as she announced her plans to join the 2018 Presidential race, challenging the 93 year old Robert Mugabe. Mariyacha is thanking the citizens of Zimbabwe for their outpouring support and acceptance, which took the candidate by surprise.

The United Movements and Unions Party opposition leader and humanitarian announced her bid for the presidency last week and has launched a global campaign to spread awareness and solicit support from the diaspora and the international community to intervene and help stop atrocities and election violence committed by the ruling ZANU-PF party.

A human rights activist, businesswoman and published author based in California, USA, Mariyacha has recently launched a grass roots campaign via her website to force pressure on the United Nations and the world to intervene in the country’s upcoming 2018 elections, vowing to prevent the human rights violations, arbitrary arrests and abductions, beatings, torture, and killings of members and supporters of the opposition parties that has plagued Zimbabwe’s most recent elections.

Mariyacha has received many messages of encouragement and offers of help from volunteers that are hungry for change, to assist with campaigns in different areas in the country. The amount of messages received by Mariyacha has made it difficult for her to respond to each one but she said that she is reading every message. Mariyacha adds, “Thank you Zimbabwe!! Please know that I am reading every message and being even more inspired by your kind words. For those volunteers who left their phone numbers we shall contact them shortly. Freedom is certain!”

Mariyacha is encouraging those interested to visit her website www.violetmariyacha.com/petition to sign the petition to urge the United Nations to monitor the Zimbabwe Elections in 2018, share the link, as well as use the tag to ask others to sign the petition to spread awareness about the anticipated election violence in the upcoming elections.
