A TOTAL OF ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY ONE (121) POLITICAL PARTIES have so far registered to participate in 2018 elections and the number is growing by the day.
 
A hundred and twenty one political parties have so far notified the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) of their intention to participate in the 2018 polls.
There is a massive rush by many opposition political partiesin Zimbabwe to register to participate in the 2018 harmonised elections and the number is fast growing as the window of registration is still open.
ZEC chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba said the vetting includes the payment of US$1 000 for aspiring presidential candidates and security clearance on criminal convictions.
The electoral management body Zec chair has warned of a logistics crisisin the event that parties pull out of the Zimbabwe electoral race after the presidential proclamation once their choice of candidate loses the presidential race.
 
Some observers are of the opinion that the fact Zimbabwe has 121 opposition parties, registered for 2018 elections, it simply means that if the MDC ALLIANCE boycott the poll, it will change nothing as the others will employ their democratic right to contest,…interesting!
