After 9 Years With No Chief, Beitbridge West Installs A 22 year Old Chief
A chieftainship wrangle saw the people of Beitbridge West going for nine years without a chief.
Complete with praise poetry, Venda dances and traditional practices to honour the new chief the ceremony was truly a royal affair.
Family and community members have been urged by Senator Tambudzani Mohadi to give the young chief support and respect so that he executes his duties diligently.
Traditional leaders have a critical role to play in spearheading developmental programmes in their areas, says the Minister of Rural Development, Preservation and Promotion of National Culture Heritage, Abednigo Ncube.
Chief Staudze the 9th takes over from his father Pariti Mbedzi who died in 2006, in line with the local succession custom where the chieftainship moves from father to son.
