A HELICOPTER CHARTERED FOR A PHOTO SHOOT HAS CRASHED East River helicopter crash kills five in New York City
A helicopter which had been chartered for a photoshoot, by a group of photographers crashed into the East River , New York City on Sunday evening, killing five people.
Two of the helicopter passengers died on the scene while the other three die later in hospital but the pilot managed to free himself from the helicopter crash wreckage and he was rescued by a passing tugboat.
Survivors were pulled out from the crash site by the emergency services from 50ft deep water.
The the cause of the crash is yet to be determined. More news to follow. By Sibusiso Ngwenya
