Mugabe negotiated a fat exit package through a team of mediators including Catholic priest, Fidelis Mukonori , the ex Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor Gideon Gono. The newzimbabwevision government will give Robert Gabriel Mugabe a US$5 million lump-sum and then the remainder to be paid out in instalments,” a source said.
The package will give Mugabe full medical cover, a monthly salary while alive and half that wage in case of his death to his wife Grace Mugabe per month.
The full immunity and a US$10 million lump sum deal effectively stopped Mugabe’s forced exile and instead guaranteed his retirement in the motherland Zimbabwe with all his benefits untouched.
