POLICE Commissioner General Chihuri a very unpopular figure in Zimbabwe was at the inauguration ceremony of President Emmerson Mnangagwa booed by thousands of angry Zimbabweans as he pledged allegiance to the new Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa as he read his loyalty pledge.

The angry booing crowd, chanted “He should go, he should go, he should go”

Chihuri is seen as an ‘icon’ of police brutality, extortion, bribery, corruption, lawlessness, torture, murder, disappearances and astate security organisation instead of a people police.

According to the Zimbabwe war veterans chairperson Christopher Mutsvangwa , said Police Commissioner General Chihuri deserved the “disrespect and scorn” from the public as he had failed to discharge his duties professionally and must resign.

Mutsvangwa said that Chihuru had failed to act when the G40 cabal was freely looting Zimbabwe’s national resources and instead what should have been done by the police force police was in the end done by the military.

Roadblocks, extortion, forced donations by junior cops, public victimisation and other issues had made the public angry and thats why they wanted his head and booed him yesterday. More news to follow. By Sibusiso Ngwenya
