‘Ndiweni is a king, not a chief, and once I get into power, I will install him as the king,’ Chamisa

The MDC leader Nelson Chamisa has reportedly announced at the MDC congress that the controversial Ntabazinduna Chief Felix Nhlanhla Ndiweni is not just an ordinary chief but fit to be declared a king instead.
“I would like to honour Chief Ndiweni for accepting our invite. Actually he is a king, not a chief, and once I get into power, I will install him as the king,” he said.
Chamisa is clerly treading on dangerous divisive ground as this announcement is highly divisive to the matebeland people who already have their King and coronation done, so clearly Chamisa’s decision is publicly announcing to the people of matebeland that the MDC dos not recognise the already crowned Ndebele King but instead Chamisa will install Nddiweni as the King of Matebeleland.
www.newzimbabwevision.com, warns the people that this no more that simple vote buying because he needs the political muscle that Ndiweni holds by drawing Matebeleland to vote for MDC. It is right that the people vote for whomever they choose to vote for, but as I have always warned, a king is nothing other than a celebratory figure with no relevance in the Zimbabwe society, because lets assume this goes on to happen, what then are we saying about the breakaway of Matebeleland from the rest of Zimbabwe to become a nation on their own. Furthermore what powers does a king hold, case in point is it the Zimbabwe constitution that prevails as a law over the Ndebeles or with the kingdom have its own constitution, laws and independance totally from the rest of Zimbabwe?
There is so much involved including, whose decision is it to breakway, would that be the king, or Mthwakazi party, or the people of Matebeleland or the whole nation voting over the proposed breakaway of Matebeleland. I also know that some people in Matebeleland want to become part of South Africa where the original Ndebeles came from as they fled the Zulu King Tshaka,or would South Africa wangt to distance itself from the liability of making Matebeleland part of it. There are so many interested parties in the matter such that it becomes a circus for Chamisa to just blurt out such a vote buying statement by saying, ‘I would like to honour Ndiweni for accepting our invite. He is a king, not a chief, and once I get into power, I will install him as the king,’
This is heavily divisive to the Zimbabwe nation coming at a time where everyone is clamouring for unity and for us to work together to push out the militarised Mnangagwa Zanu pf regime.
Ndiweni who attended the MDC congress on Saturday also attended the ZANU-PF conference in Esigodini in 2018 after a similar invite from the Zanu pf regime. Ndiweni who has always declared that he is apolitical and is there for the people of Zimbabwe, has also attended the ZAPU and MRP congresses previously. DISCUSS! More news to follow.
